Architect Tudor Ilie
Tudor Ilie is an architect based in London, UK. He studied architecture at the Liverpool School of Architecture, where he was mentored by Dr Torsten Schmiedeknecht. Tudor has worked in practice in the UK across multiple sectors, including healthcare, culture, education, residential and heritage. He has gathered expertise in designing and managing projects of various types and scales; he has participated in the preparation of multiple successful planning application submissions and delivery of tender and construction packages for diverse clients.
Notable projects Tudor has been involved in include Aerospace Bristol, an aviation museum; a chemotherapy unit at Ulster Hospital; a reference scheme for the new Velindre Cancer Centre in Wales; and Social Housing Bundle 2, a multi-site residential development in Ireland.
For this website, I opted for a minimalist design, as instructed by my client. Tudor Ilie drew inspiration from other architect websites, where minimalism is the norm. He wanted to ensure that the focus remained on the content and projects being showcased. Thus, the website features clean lines, simple colour palettes, and easy navigation.
For the uninitiated, this design choice may seem stark and unexpressive. However, in reality, the user experience is quite the opposite. The simplicity allows for seamless and intuitive browsing. Moreover, it helps to prioritise the content and minimise distractions for the user. All in all the website I built for this client is clean, well-structured and user-friendly.
